On Saturday, we released the latest installment of Speeches & Stories, Lyrics & Letters:
Dylan’s Current Read List:
The Vision of the Anointed by Thomas Sowell
“Self congratulation as public policy” - Sowell breaks down the issues with the prevailing vision of our time in the political and social spheres.
Hero on a Mission by Donald Miller
The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis
“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.” - This book’s timing is impeccable, as I read it while having questions about the nature of reality, God’s power, and how Christians should answer the question, “Is God is all-loving, good, and all-powerful, then why would he allow his supposed ‘children’ to experience suffering, pain, and hardship?”
In other news:
It is “Preptober”! There’s this thing called NaNoWriMo, which is an organization that promotes the month of November as “National Novel Writing Month” in which writers enter the competition to try and put together a 50,000 word manuscript in just the one month.
I originally heard about it a couple years ago, but it was already November so I couldn’t start. And then the next year I was recovering from my ACL surgery. And now it’s this year. I am not prepping for a ‘novel’, but I do have a book in mind. I checked out many books from the library and I am starting to put a structure together.
If you want to follow along, I have started a writing vlog on my YouTube channel. Feel free to check it out and give me a subscribe!
